Khloe Kardashian or NeNe Leakes to Replace Kelly Osbourne on fashion police?
How would Joan Rivers feel about all of this? Recently on Fashion Police, Giuliana Rancic (and Kathy Griffin, although she's getting a pass somehow) made comments about Zendaya's dreads at the Oscars. Zendaya responded. Fans and celebs backed her. Giuliana apologized. Then Kelly Osbourne quit Fashion Police, amid the controversy.
Now what? A source told Us Weekly that Khloe Kardashian and NeNe Leakes are both being considered to replace Kelly. What do you think of either option there?
Meanwhile, TMZ heard from Fashion Police
staffers who feel like this Giuliana vs. Kelly battle is ruining everything Joan built. They feel like the uproar over the Zendaya hair joke will make Giuliana more cautious on the show, with that chilling effect also leading to other commentators being more delicate and PC, which is not really the sarcastic go-ahead-and-get-offended-see-if-I-care legacy Joan left behind
TMZ said producers also wish both Kelly and Giuliana "had chilled after the on air apology ... because things would have blown over," adding, "We're told Melissa Rivers is now doing everything in her power behind the scenes to keep her mom's legacy alive."
Of course, some people have disliked Fashion Police for a long time, for this exact reason — Joan and company were always walking that line between clever and cruel. Why it took this diss to go over the top is unclear, since they've been doing it for ages, but maybe being a little kinder and gentler wouldn't be such a bad thing?
What do you hope E! does from here — replace Kelly with Khloe, NeNe, or someone else? End the show? Reboot the show as something with less edge to the fashion criticism?
I think Joan Rivers died with the show, because they have made worse comments in the past and nobody cared. They wouldn't have continued the show after Joan died. They should drop it and leave it alone.
