After six years and six seasons, the hit Fox musical will come to an end when it airs on March 20.
And the cast of Glee got together to reflect on the emotional last day of filming as they sat down with Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday.
And perhaps not surprisingly, stars Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Chord Overstreet, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Darren Criss all shed a tear on set.
Michele, 28, revealed: We cried so hard that they actually cut,' Michele, 28, said. 'We are loud criers, me and Jenna, it was like our vocal cords!'
Describing the moment they were overcome, Criss said: 'We were watching Matt Morrison sing us all a song so we were very much in our own world experiencing this,'
'And one take they pulled a fast one on us, they took Matt out of it and put basically the entire crew and production there looking at us.'
Ushkowitz interjected: 'It's as if you take every family member and friend that you've ever loved and that you have to say goodbye to and put them all in front of you at once.'
The McKinley High New Directions taped a medley of numbers for the final episode but couldn't ignore the absence of their tragic friend and co-star Cory Monteith.
Overstreet revealed: 'There's a moment in the last episode that we had [to honor Monteith], and then obviously when we wrapped we all took a moment.'
'He was there, though, we could feel him. He was there,' Colfer, 24, added.
Monteith was found dead in July 2013 at age 31 in his hotel room after overdosing on heroin and alcohol. At the time he had been dating co-star Michele.
He played football captain Finn Hudson on the show and was subsequently killed off after his sudden passing in the episode The Quarterback, although his cause of death is never explained.
Another star of the show, Jane Lynch - who plays coach Sue Sylvester - revealed to Us Weekly recently: 'It's been really sad, it's all over now,'
'I wasn't expecting it to be what it was, it felt very right that it was over and we really celebrated it. We celebrated every cast member one at a time.'
'I love the whole cast and I'll see them in life, but when the show ends you won't see them like you used to. Everyone is going to go on with their lives,' she added. 'I'll miss it.'
