Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has
described yesterday’s elections as the best organized by the National
Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).
The governor stated this shortly after casting his vote at
about 6pm in Lungun Wambai polling unit of Gayam electoral ward in
Lafia.
Al-Makura, who expressed satisfaction with the use of card
readers said he was accredited within twenty seconds which was
commendable.
He also commended the people of the state for being
orderly during the exercise and urged them to sustain the peaceful
co-existence during and after the elections.
On the issue of peaceful conduct of the elections in the
state, the governor explained that traditional and religious leaders as
well as security agencies have played significant roles towards
achieving peace and unity in the state.
