I cant believe it! There goes my guy crush! I might as well crush on lucious Lyon. Still don't know what series it is? Then ask our neighborhood know it all Google!
In a case of life imitating art, Empire star Jussie Smollett has officially addressed his sexuailty, just weeks after his on-screen counterpart,Jamal, did the same on the hit show through song — though Jussie chose a slightly less dramatic way to confirm the news.
After filming an appearance of Ellen, Jamal sat down with the TV host for a one-on-one chat, where he opened up about his sexuality.
"It was very, very important to me that, as my first performance and talk show that it was with you," Jussie told Ellen, who is famously very open about being gay and an active LGBTQ activist. "You’ve been such an inspiration to so many, but also to me. What you’ve done with the LGBT community is very much, in my opinion, kind of like what Michael Jackson did with the black community. Just that you are who you are, and he was just Michael and you’re just Ellen. So, you know, it was really important to me to make sure that it got across that there is no closet. There’s never been a closet, that I’ve been in. I don’t own a closet, I got a dresser, but I don’t have a closet."
Jussie, who is notoriously cagey about his private life, clarified that he wants to "protect" his "home," which is why he chose not to talk about my personal life. He re-emphasized, however, it's not because he's in the closet. "Let's not read into it in the wrong way when I say that I don’t talk about my personal life. I’m saying that, but it is in no way to hide or deny who God made me. Ya know? My mamma knows. My mamma likes me a lot."
Jokingly, he added, "And yes I take her to the Sound of Music sing-along every single year. So, any questions?"
In conclusion? "Now you don't gotta ask no more!"
