Ifeanyi Ubah, slamed 10-match ban, N2.5m fine for slapping goalkeeper



Billionaire businessman, Ifeanyi Ubah, who was caught on camera slapping Heartland FC goalkeeper, Ebele Obi has been slammed a N2.5 million fine and a 10-match ban by Nigeria’s League Management Company.
The LMC toughened its punishment for Ubah after video evidence nailed him.
The regulator however said in a statement on Thursday that the billionaire businessman can appeal against the ruling if he deems so.

According to Islamic rites, Colonel Samaila Inusa, the Nigerian Army Colonel that was abducted by some unknown gunmen in Kaduna on Easter Sunday (March 27th) and killed has been laid to rest. He was buried on Wednesday.

Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai has gone on record to shut down rumors that claimed he allegedly engaged his Deputy, Barnabas Bala Bantex, in a fisticuffs over alleged argument on state matters.

Naira on steady struggle against the dollar...



On Wednesday, the Naira maintained its exchange rate at N322 to a dollar.
It also remained firm against the two other major currencies, the pounds sterling which exchanged at N448 and the\euro which sold for N355. 
However, at the official interbank rate, N197, was exchange for a dollar.

The apex bank, in its last Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, said that excess liquidity in the banking system was contributing to the current pressure in the foreign exchange market. The bank said that the pressure was impacting negatively on consumer prices.

Braithwaite reportedly died on Monday morning at St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos.

GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike on Tuesday lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for interfering during the re-run elections in the state that on Saturday.
Governor Wike accused the Minister of Transportation, Mr Chibuike Amaechi of allegedly plotting to rig the elections, said the former governor came into the state noisily and left quietly after results showed he could not deliver his candidates.

No more Elections in Rivers State until peace is restored- INEC...



INEC has said that it would not hold any elections in Rivers until peace is restored. 
INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, also announced recently that INEC would no longer release results due to the irregularities witnessed during the elections.
He said that INEC had earlier cancelled the elections held in eight out of the state’s 23 local government areas. 

Rumor has it that,No fewer than 10 people are said to have died during the elections resulting in trading blame between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic (PDP) on which was behind the crisis.

A photographer, Mr. Emmanuel Okolo, has filed a N120m copyright infringement suit against musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face, and wife, Annie and one Mr. Anthonio Anifite before Justice Mohammed Idris of a Federal High Court in Lagos.

On Monday,A Federal High Court in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, granted bail in the sum of N3 million to Daihiru Yunusa.
Yunusa is standing trial on a five count charge of criminal abduction and sexual exploitation of a minor, Miss Ese Oruru.

The Rivers State Election rerun as ordered by the Court of Appeal has come and gone but not without any violence. I mean, what were you expecting? It's now a do or die thing as nobody wants to be a loser twice in a roll. But then again. It's very normal for the parties involved to point fingers and blame each other for every bad thing that happened. Well here's all i was able to gather on all that went down.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike after casting his vote in his ward 9 unit on Saturday said the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was not prepared for the Federal and State Houses of Assembly re-run elections in the state. 
Governor Wike made this statement in Rumuepirikom community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in company of his Beautiful wife, Justice Suzette Wike. (P.S;I love her name)

The Governor of Imo State,Chief Rochas Okorocha, has sacked the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, SGI, Sir Jude Ejiogu.
The Governor’s directive, which did not come as a shock to careful political observers in the state, was repeatedly broadcast Friday, on the radio and television channels of Imo Broadcasting Corporation, IBC.
According to the terse radio and television announcements, which was signed by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Paschal Obi, the sack was “with immediate effect”.
Okorocha thanked Sir Ejiogu for his previous services to the state and wished him well in his future endeavours.

James Ocholi,His wife & Son laid to rest...

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment,James Ocholi, his wife Blessing and son, Joshua Ocholi that died in a car accident were laid to rest today at their country home in Kogi state. 

May their souls rest in peace...

 Diah had been a former speaker of the House of Assembly and was nominated by the former speaker of the House, Peter Abel Diah, to be elected as new speaker.

Fulani Herdsmen attack another Benue Village, 15 killed...


No fewer than 15 persons were killed in a bloody shootout by Fulani herdsmen Thursday afternoon Tombo in Buruku Local Government Area of the state. 

The Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent Moses Yamu, while confirming the incident disclosed that seven persons were killed in the attack that occurred at about 3p.m. 
Yamu disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Paul Yakadi, had led a team to the crisis zone to ascertain the cause of the renewed clash.

Edo State Chief Magistrate regains her freedom...


Mrs Garuba Hassana (The wife of the former Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Zakawanu Hassana), a Chief Magistrate with the Edo State judiciary, that was abducted last Tuesday has been freed by the kidnappers with three other victims, including two medical doctors who were randomly taken from a commercial bus the same day she was taken.
