Frequent changes of heads of security identified as the cause of insecurity in Rivers state- Gov. Wike ...


 Governor Nyesom Wike on Monday in a television program pleaded that heads of security bodies should be allowed time to implement security strategies they develop, stressing that the frequent changes was disrupting security plans.

 Governor said his administration was determined to tackle security challenges in the state with support of the various security bodies, stressing that he had continued to give the various security bodies the necessary support to enhance their operations.
Gov. Wike also  said he was deeply pained by the killing of a corps member in the last rerun elections in the state said an independent post mortem examination be conducted on the corpse of the corps member to determine the type of gun used by the killers.
He promised to continue to take steps to implement his development programs for the state, saying some of the media reports on violence in the state were allegedly politically motivated,
The governor also said he will not invest in the monorail project started by his predecessor.

 “Rivers people have told me not to touch the Monorail left behind by the other government,” he said.
