The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rescheduled the Abuja area council elections slated for March 19. The election will now hold on April 9, the electoral umpire said.

The Abuja area council elections that was initially slated for March 19 has been rescheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) , it will now hold on April 9.

This was disclosed in an address by the FCT Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Jacob Jatau, at an emergency meeting with concerned parties on Monday 14th at the INEC conference hall.
Mr. Jatau in the address revealed that the shift in the election date was as a result of shortage of ad-hoc workers.
