Rivers Election Rerun to hold in 1,840 polling units –INEC...

The Independent National Electoral Commission has said that the December 10 supplementary election in Rivers State will hold in 1,840 polling units across the 23 local government areas of the state.

INEC postpones Rivers Rerun again...

As a result of Friday’s debacle the fire outbreak that torched the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in Khana local government area of Rivers state, the conduct of national and state legislative rerun elections in the state that was scheduled for this weekend has been postponed by the commission.

No more Elections in Rivers State until peace is restored- INEC...



INEC has said that it would not hold any elections in Rivers until peace is restored. 
INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, also announced recently that INEC would no longer release results due to the irregularities witnessed during the elections.
He said that INEC had earlier cancelled the elections held in eight out of the state’s 23 local government areas. 

Rumor has it that,No fewer than 10 people are said to have died during the elections resulting in trading blame between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic (PDP) on which was behind the crisis.

The Rivers State Election rerun as ordered by the Court of Appeal has come and gone but not without any violence. I mean, what were you expecting? It's now a do or die thing as nobody wants to be a loser twice in a roll. But then again. It's very normal for the parties involved to point fingers and blame each other for every bad thing that happened. Well here's all i was able to gather on all that went down.

INEC not prepared for the rerun - Gov. Wike...




Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike after casting his vote in his ward 9 unit on Saturday said the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was not prepared for the Federal and State Houses of Assembly re-run elections in the state. 
Governor Wike made this statement in Rumuepirikom community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in company of his Beautiful wife, Justice Suzette Wike. (P.S;I love her name)

State broadcast by Governor Nyesom Wike on Saturday’s election re-run...


My dear people of Rivers State,

As we all know, the court-ordered National and State Assemblies’ re-run elections will take place on Saturday March 19, 2016 to fill the State’s 3 Senatorial seats, 12 out of the 13 House of Representatives seats and 22 out of the 32 State House of Assembly seats.

Rivers State Election Rerun News: INEC to dispatch sensitive and non-sensitive materials today...



As part activities gearing up for this weekend’s election re-run in Rivers State, non-sensitive materials are being dispatched by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC  to the local government areas, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Aniedi Ikoiwak said on Tuesday. 
The sensitive materials including ballot papers and result sheets he said would start arriving the state from today (Tuesday,March 16th).
 He said training of ad-hoc staff for the elections was still ongoing in the local government areas.

INEC declares PDP’s Ohuabunwa as winner of Abia North Election Re-run...


Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, who won four out of the five local government areas in the Abia North Senatorial election re-run,winner of the poll.
He defeated former governor of the state and candidate of the Progressives Peoples Alliance, PPA, Orji Uzor Kalu; Dr. David Onuoha-Bourdex of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and Nnenna Nma Lancaster-Okoro of the All Progressives Congress.
The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, who won four out of the five local government areas in the Abia North Senatorial election re-run, has been declared winner of the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. He defeated former governor of the state and candidate of the Progressives Peoples Alliance, PPA, Orji Uzor Kalu; Dr. David Onuoha-Bourdex of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and Nnenna Nma Lancaster-Okoro of the All Progressives Congress.

David Mark wins Benue Senatorial Rerun...

Former Senate President, David Mark, has been declared as the winner of the February 20 Benue South Senatorial District Re-run election.The result was annouced by Prof.Ishaku Enigi for The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
David Mark polled a total of 84, 192 while his opponent, Daniel Onjeh had 71, 621 votes. Mark won in five local government areas while Onjeh won in four.
