In New York City, $500,000 can buy many, many things... but apparently high-speed WiFi isn't one of them.
New
York's most expensive apartment rental on the 39th floor of the
five-star Pierre Hotel on 61st Street near Central Park in Manhattan
includes a private elevator, personal butler and access to
a chauffeur-driven Jaguar in its $500,000-per-month price tag.
However upgraded internet speed at the nearly 5,000-square-foot, full-floor, six-suite rental is an extra $12.95 per day.
The six-bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom rental is double the price of the second most expensive apartment in the city.
It includes the 1,850-square-foot Tata Presidential Suite, which rents on its own for close to $30,000 a night, according to Fortune.
Even though it would cost $6million - $25,000 a night - to rent for a year, someone actually did it, for a month at least.
In
fact, the one-month renter need more space, so they got another suite
at the hotel for a discounted rate of $150,000 per month, Curbed reported.
The
delicate windows of the suites look out over Central Park, the
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir and George Washington Bridge.
And
if the pantry kitchen is too small for would-be renters, they can
always nip down to one of the hotel's two restaurants, Sirio Ristorante
and Two E Bar/Lounge.
In addition
to the butler and the Jaguar, one-hour pressing, 24-hour room service
and twice daily housekeeping are also available.
Tenants must sign a lease for at least one month, and can stay for as long as they like on a month-to-month basis.
According
to the hotel: 'The Tata Suite features an expansive living room, two
bedrooms with baths, a dining room with custom silver leaf table which
seats eight, and a pantry kitchen.'
It also has Murano glass chandeliers and Turkish marble bathrooms.
