Hajj tragedy: 64 Nigerians dead, 240 missing

The National Hajj Commission, has confirmed that of Nigerian casualties at the September 24 Kuna stampede has risen to 64.
Similarly, as many as, 240 Nigerian pilgrims were still missing.
Mr Uba Mana, the Public Relations Officer, of the Commission, disclosed that the injured were receiving the prompt medical attention.

According to him, a report containing the identities of the victims is on its way to Abuja, in line with the directive from the Presidency to the National Hajj Commission.
He said, ” as soon as our medical team finish treating the injured, we will soon start Airlifting them back to Nigeria.

It is not known if Kaley, who is one of the highest-paid actresses earning $1m per episode on The Big Bang Theory, has a prenup.

200 Boko Haram insurgents surrender- Army'

The Nigerian Army Disclosed on Friday that about 200 suspected Boko Haram insurgents have "raised up the white flag" in other words surrendered. They actually surrendered after the military overran their territories along Bama-Banki axis of Borno.

The theater Commander,operation Lafiya Dole made this known while speaking with newsmen in Borno State Capital, Maiduguri.

 A grief-stricken teenage girl killed herself only two months after her mother was beaten to death by her crack-addicted boyfriend - who had just been released from prison for domestic violence.

Rachelle Owen, 16, committed suicide on railway tracks near Hoylake station in Wirral, Merseyside, in April because she 'just wanted to be with' her mother, Kay Diamond, 44, a court heard today.

Only weeks earlier, in February, Miss Diamond had been murdered by her 52-year-old loan shark boyfriend, Anthony Blye, after he got into an 'explosive rage' at her flat in Toxteth, south Liverpool.

Blye had been released from prison less than 24 hours earlier after serving a 28-day sentence for breaching a Domestic Violence Prevention Order following eight incidents in the past year.

Hajj: 2 more pilgrims die

THE death toll of Nige­ria pilgrims taking part in this year’s Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia has increased to 22 as two more pilgrims from Bauchi State have died in the Holy Land.
Addressing newsmen in Makkah on Monday, Ex­ecutive Secretary of Bau­chi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Isi­yaku Suleman, disclosed that the dead, a man and a woman, died as a result of malaria and asthma attack.
Suleman said the man died in Medina, while the woman died in Makkah.
He added that the de­ceased were from Ningi and Toro Local Govern­ment Areas of the state re­spectively.

Maiduguri bombings: Death toll hits 117

The death toll from a series of bomb blasts blamed on Boko Haram in Maiduguri in northeastern Nigeria has risen to at least 117, that like more than twice the official tally.
About 72 dead were registered at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, while 45 more were taken to the mortuary at the Borno State Specialist Hospital.
They are calling it Boko Haram's deadliest attacks on the city of Maiduguri since President Muhammadu Buhari came to power, killing many many people in a series of coordinated bomb blasts.

20 Nigerian pilgrims die in Mecca

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on Monday confirmed the death of 20 Nigerian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia since the beginning of this year’s Hajj.
The Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Abdullahi Mukhtar, disclosed this at a pre-Arafat stakeholders meeting at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
He said 14 pilgrims died due to cardiac arrest and other ailments, while six lost their lives at the Sept. 11 crane crash.

The abductors of Chief Olu Falae that was abducted at about 1pm and by 3.20pm,  have demanded for N100m as ransom before they will consider freeing him from their captivity.
 The Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF and chieftain of the Afenifere, Chief Samuel Oluyemisi Falae Monday received the shock of his life on his 77th birthday as gunmen numbering over 20 invaded his farm in Ilado village, Akure north area of Ondo state and kidnapped him‎.

First thing i asked myself after reading this was, 100m from where?
