Gunmen have abducted the wife of a university Don and social critic, Prof Nath Protus Uzoma,  from her residence in the World Bank area of Owerri, Imo state capital.
It was gathered that Lolo Esther Uzoma was  whisked away at about 10 pm on Sunday  and her abductors were yet to make any demand or contact members of her family as at press time.

Her husband, Uzoma who is also a columnist with The Sun Newspaper, said that the armed  men had stormed their residence on Sunday night, asking for his whereabouts and his wife had told them that he was not around. However, after ransacking the whole house, they took her away at gunpoint.

He pointed out that prior to this time that he used to have police security but that they were withdrawn because of the new police of the new police Inspector General of Police and appealed to police authority to restore his police security to secure the life of his family.
However, Prof Uzoma commended the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Taiwo Lakanu, who he said,  responded promptly after the matter was reported, adding that operatives of the police command have been working round the clock in search of his abducted wife.
