Nigerian Voters
A Nigerian election agency office was attacked with three sticks of dynamite in the southern oil-industry hub state of Rivers on Saturday as the nation voted in gubernatorial elections, according to a monitor group.

The dynamite was thrown into the local Independent National Electoral Commission office in the town of Buguma, the Situation Room, a coalition of election monitors, said in a post on its Twitter account.
Nigeria’s Rivers state police spokesman, Ahmad Muhammad, said by phone that they are investigating reports of a violent “incident” in the state. Gesila Khan, the Rivers state INEC resident commissioner, declined to comment.
Nigeria’s state governorship elections opened in 29 of the 36 states of Africa’s largest economy with lower voter turnout compared with the presidential vote that ousted President Goodluck Jonathan last month.
