Governor Dickson wins Bayelsa State Gubernatorial Election...


Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party the Present Governor of Bayelsa State, has been officially declared as winner of the December 5th and January 10th Bayelsa State Gubernatorial elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
Dickson polled 134.998 votes to beat his closest rival, former Governor Timipre Sylva who polled 86, 852 votes.

The closely-contested election was reportedly marred with lots of violence and both sides recorded casualties.
Meanwhile while the PDP are hailing Dickson’s declaration, the APC said INEC had contravened its own laws by declaring Dickson as winner.
The Bayelsa APC’s position is that over 53,000 votes were cancelled during the Supplementary elections and it was far more that the 48,000 votes margin of Dickson. They have vowed to challenge what they call “a grave injustice by INEC”.
In a tweet a few minutes ago popular lawyer, Festus Keyamo who described Dickson as his friend and classmate congratulate Dickson on his re-election.
