Wike can’t be impeached, Rivers PDP tells Peterside;

The Peoples Democratic Party(Rivers State chapter) has said that the tenure of the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, is not under any threat of impeachment.

The state Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike, said on Monday that the governor would serve his tenure, adding that the people of the state would continue to support Gov. Wike led administration.

Nwanosike while briefing newsmenin Port Harcourt, in reaction to a statement credited to the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 general election, Dr. Dakuku Peterside.
Peterside had predicted that the regime of the governor would soon come to an end, adding that the people could not be deceived with lies and propaganda, no matter how well crafted the lies were.
But Nwanosike explained that the state House of Assembly had majority of the PDP and wondered why Peterside, who is the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency, would make such a statement.
He explained that there was no controversy surrounding the position of the state governor, since the Supreme Court had given its verdict in Wike favour.
Reacting, the state Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Chris Finebone, disagreed with Nwanosike, saying that Rivers remains an APC state.
He described the claim that the state belonged to the PDP as an empty talk, adding that the people of the state were aware of how the election was handled in the state.
