The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh who is answering to a seven-count criminal charge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, preferred against him, almost slumped on his way to the dock on Thursday, a situation that forced Justice Okon Abang to adjourn his trial till May 23.
Apparently,Metuh started vomiting shortly after he arrived the court for continuation of his defence and was aided into the courtroom by some of his relations, the defendant who looked ill and frail, through his lawyer Mr. Emeka Etiaba, SAN, pleaded the court for an adjournment.
His lawyer told the court that Metuh’s health condition worsened on Wednesday night.
He said the defendant was promptly rushed to the hospital by his brother in-law whose name was given as Mr. Andy Aghaji.
Counsel to the 2nd defendant, Chief Tochukwu Onwugbufor, SAN, supported the application and pleaded the court to take cognisance of the deteriorating health condition of the 1st defendant and accede to the prayer.
