Rivers State Governorship Poll: Tribunal Declines A.P.C's Petition Request

Apparently the petition filed in by the Governorship Candidate of the APC Dakuku Peterside demanding the transfer of all Electoral materials that was used during the April 11 gubernatorial elections in Rivers State to Tribunal in Abuja for inspection was declined Wednesday August 19th.

Let's press rewind to last week I published a posted here about this case. That the fate of Dakuku Peterside will be made known on Monday. Click here to read if your just joining us. Well on Monday it seemed like the case was going to Favor the APC but let's just fast forward to Wednesday August 19th the story has changed.

The presiding judge, Justice Muazu Pindiga in Abuja today went on record to dismiss the application that was filed by the APC and it's flag bearer.

Quick back story: They filed the petition against the victory of PDP Guber candidate and now Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike demanding that the tribunal direct INEC to relocate all the polling materials to Abuja for inspection by its legal team and forensic experts.

They were requesting that the electoral materials including list of accredited voters, ballot papers and even the card readers that was sent to Rivers State by INEC for the Gubernatorial  Election.

Apparently, after declining the July 17, 2015 application, the tribunal came to the conclusion  that giving in to the request made by the APC and Dakuku Peterside would amount to varying an earlier order it made on June 11.

Well there it is. I'm guessing this is the end of the case. Bye bye see you later.

I trust PDP members. They love to party and rumor has it that supporters of The Governor of Rivers State have been celebrating since they received the amazing news.
