Court sentence 2 fulani herdsmen to 20years in prison.

Yesterday, A Delta State High Court, sitting in Asaba, sentenced two Fulani herdsmen, Hassan Abidu and Yakubu Salem, suspected to be members of a group of armed nomads terrorizing indigenes of Ibusa and its environs, especially farmers, to 20 years in jail with hard labour.

Timetable for Edo, Ondo governorship elections released by INEC.

According to the commission's Daily Bulletin issued in Abuja, June 12 has been scheduled for the commencement of campaigns by political parties participating in the Edo governorship election.
“July 2 to July 4 has also been set aside for the conduct of party primaries, including resolution of disputes arising from the primaries,” it said.

In reaction to this unexpected twist, the Ayuba Wabba faction of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, have rejected the increase and vowed to resist it alongside its civil society allies, calling on government to revert the hike to avoid a nationwide mass protest and industrial unrest.
On its part, the Joe Ajaero faction, equally rejected the hike, warning that there would be massive resistance by organized labour jointly to ensure that this further injury and hardship on Nigerians does not stand.

Truth be told, I still can't believe that fuel price just increased over night. From N87/per litre to N145/per litre. I guess this is really the change they promised Nigerians should this administration win the election. Anyways, we like that they are sticking to their say by fulfilling their campaign promises.

On Monday, Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi signed the state’s 2016 appropriation bill of N99.9 billion into law.
It comprised N41.71 billion as capital and N58.228 billion as recurrent expenditure. Assenting to the bill in Lokoja, Bello described the bill as budget of change and promised its full implementation.

Lagos police hunt for man over wife’s death...

A manhunt has been launched by the Lagos State Police Command for Mr. Lekan Shonde, who allegedly killed his banker-wife, Ronke, in Lagos on Thursday night.

The victim Ronke Shonde, a mother of two, was found dead in their apartment located on Tiemo Close, Off Awori Street, in the Egbeda-Idimu area of Lagos State on Friday morning.

President Muhammadu Buhari has given a fresh order to the military to crack down on a new militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers, which has been attacking oil installations.

This is contained in a statement issued by the General Manager, Public Relations, NCAA,Mr Sam Adurogboye, which was made available on Sunday in Lagos.

Yesterday, suspected herdsmen, attacked Coromo and two other villages in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, killing about 12 persons and wounding about 18 others seriously.
Local sources said those killed included seven men, two women and children, while 13 houses were burnt.

The troops of 26 and 223, Battalions, Army Headquarters Strike Group and Armed Forces Special Forces have cleared remnants of Boko Haram in Izza and Njima general area.
