Kerry Washington has taken on what might be her most demanding role yet.
And if looks mean anything, the 38-year-old has nailed her portrayal of Anita Hill for HBO's new film Confirmation.
The
actress shared a snap of herself in character to Instagram on Tuesday
as she stood behind a bank of microphones with her raven locks coiffed
in Hill's signature hairstyle.
Dressed in a pantsuit, she looks the spitting image of Hill who was at the epicentre of a major scandal in Washington DC.
Kerry
captioned the photo: 'Dear @HBO, Thank you for the profound opportunity
of getting to inhabit Anita Hill and help tell this story! Yours Truly,
K-Dub (aka super excited Exec Producer) #Confirmation'.
The film titled Confirmation focuses on Clarence Thomas' 1991 Supreme Court confirmation hearings.
Hill's
sexual harassment allegations against Thomas put the issue at the center
of a fierce national debate. Hill became a hero and a target, while
Thomas was confirmed as an associate justice.
Last
year saw the release of Anita, a documentary by the Oscar-winning
filmmaker Freida Mock about the Brandeis University law professor.
Greg
Kinnear has been cast as Joe Biden. The 51-year-old actor will play the
current Vice President, who is now 72-years-old, when he served as
chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and was a part of the
controversial 1991 confirmation hearings.
This is a
challenging dramatic role for Kinnear, who got his start on The Soup.
Biden was accused of foul play and letting Thomas get away with a
crime.
Jennifer
Hudson, 33, also landed a role. The former American Idol contestant
will play Angela Wright, who was dubbed 'the other woman.'
The film will chronicle the contentious confirmation hearings for Thomas, who was accused of sexual harassment.
