So sad to hear that,one of Africa’s finest novelist, poet and dramatist Captain Elechi Amadi has passed away.
He died on Wednesday at the Good Heart hospital in Port Harcourt at the age of 82.

Naira consolidates against dollar...
On Tuesday,the Naira appreciated further against the dollar at the parallel market.
The Nigerian currency gained N9 at the close of trading on Tuesday to exchange at N335, from N344 it traded on Monday.
The Naira also appreciated against the Pound Sterling and the Euro as it traded at N450 and N356 respectively.
Meanwhile, the Naira also exchanged at N281.85 at the official interbank rate at the end of trading on Monday.

Isis Claims Orlando nightclub Shooting...
Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the Orlando nightclub shooting,which killed 50 people and injured 53 others, according to the Amaq news agency, which is tied to the group.

Amodu complained of chest pain, died of frustration – Cousin
A relative of the late Director of the Nigeria Football Federation, Shaibu Amodu, has said that the former Super Eagles coach died after complaining of pain in the left side of his chest.
Akuri Afegbua, who is a cousin to the late Shaibu, also said that the late coach died of frustration from the alleged non-payment of his financial entitlements by the NFF and the Edo State Government.

Court where he was to be tried in Benin on Wednesday morning.
A prison official told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Benin on Wednesday under the condition of anonymity, that warders had gone after the inmate. Spokesman for the Edo command of the Nigerian Prison Services (NPS), Mr Aminu Suleiman said he was not in a position to speak on the issue. Suleiman told NAN that the state Comptroller of Prisons, Mr Effiom Etowa, was on official assignment outside the state.

Ohakim has case to answer, EFCC tells court
On Monday, The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission urged a Federal High Court in Abuja to dismiss the no-case submission filed by former Imo State governor, Ikedi Ohakim, after the prosecution closed its case with six witnesses in his ongoing trial on money laundering charges.
