Sights and Sounds of Imo State...

Hello Hello,
Happy Last Wednesday in 2015.
How did you spend your Christmas Holiday?
Let me go first, I spent mine home just chilling, like literally! Full time chill, it was a routine. Home,Out (errands), Church and home again! Sounds Boring? But truth be told there is nothing else I'd rather be doing.
But yesterday December 29th, I left town briefly! I visited my country home in Imo State. Yep! I'm actually from Imo State, but I don't speak my language but I'm learning. I'm even taking applications now. Anybody that will like to teach me how to speak ibo please signify by raising your hands. Anyways, this was actually my first trip outta Rivers State this year and despite the fact that i was in Imo state for my Uncle's burial, I tried to savor the moment. It felt good having someone else on the wheel that wasn't me!

So where was I?
So the ride from Rivers State to the 'Welcome to Imo State' sign was smooth if we choose to ignore the struggle to get petrol. We met a couple of ah Cops/police on the way and funny story, they were unusually super nice. At some point I was confused and I asked Edna(my elder sis);'Are we still in Nigeria? When did the road cops get so nice?'

Edna was as shocked as I was! She was like 'Nne,Shebi you haff sawn it'.
But I couldn't deal with the begging sha. (Ha Ha Ha). The cops can beg oh!
Kept calling Junior(Kid Bro), chief!
Yes! We got to Imo State and it felt like we just woke up from a bad dream into another bad dream, where we woke up in another bad dream, it was basically a series of Bad dreams. The ride Till Obinze Was the worse and I don't know what was sadder, the cops waiting in the monstrosity of a road or the bad road itself. I kept asking, is there water in Imo State that we don't know about that's chewing the road?literally chewing it.  I couldn't stop to take pictures. I was running late.
But I kept asking my elder sister, since my niece wasn't there it's my job to ask the annoying questions. My first question;
Tochi: Chinwe, (that's my elder sister ibo name) she answered
Chinwe: 'Ehn Toh'.
Tochi: Does Imo State not have a Governor?
Chinwe: They do nau 'Rochas'.
Tochi: You sure?
Chinwe: Yes! Why?
Tochi: why is this road so bad?
Chinwe: it's federal Government road!
Tochi: So?
Chinwe: It's not in His place to work on the road.
Tochi: But isn't he an APC governor?
Chinwe: Yes!
Tochi: Buhari not seen this road?
Chinwe: Tochi, u go try rest!

My point is, yes I complain a lot but even you reading this will complain too if you had the displeasure of passing that road. The road was unbearable. It was like that till we entered owerri. Owerri is turning to Lagos, the traffic ain't for kids. Still on our way to my late mom's country home we drove pass this beautiful park. I mean so beautiful and we saw that Xmas tree that Governor Rochas spent some serious naira on! It was fine alright but not worth the price! See the pictures I was able to take while we were in Traffic. Next!...
It's like an Amusement Park, who can guess where all the money they make from the park go to?
Just by looking at it you can tell it'll be so much fun to hangout in there and I'm seriously considering it.
Six hours, 1Funeral and 10 bad roads later it was time to head back home.
In all it was a fun trip, filled with so much laughter, moment of silence, memories and reunions.
It was smooth sailing back home, not one traffic. Basically because most people are chilling in their various country homes...
End.
So how did you spend you Xmas holiday? Was it huge party, did you just stay home and binge watch Tv? Did you leave your base or resident? Are you still on your holiday mode till 4th of January?

Please share with me how you spent this Christmas Holiday... You could leave you comment Below or just email me everything, Details and pictures ... I  Will defintely share them here...
