THE Hawaiian Volcano Observatory says a magnitude-4.5 earthquake has jolted the Big Island of Hawaii.
THE observatory says the quake struck at 2:18am on Saturday and was centred about eight kilometres north of the small town of Naalehu at a depth of 9.6km.
There were no reports of damage or injury. People around the island reported light shaking. The observatory says light shaking isn't expected to damage buildings. Small aftershocks under magnitude-2 were recorded in the hours after.
