Two Die In Ebonyi Clash

 Ebonyi State2
Two people have been reported killed following an alleged clash between supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party in Amagu Ikwo community in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

However, the spokesman for the Police in the State, Mr Chris Anyanwu, confirmed the killing of one person, said to be a member of the Labour Party, but he told Channels Television that the incident had nothing to do with any clash between political parties.
The clash is believed to have left several others injured in the community, which is the home town of the state governor, Martin Elechi.
He said the Ebonyi State Police Command had deployed security operatives to keep the peace in the area, while investigations into the matter had commenced to ascertain the remote and immediate causes of the clash.
