12 days of Christmas series: Day1;The DIY bride

Bride to be? What to DIY and what to leave to the professionals...

Planning your dream wedding is so exciting but then again it can become very stressful, especially if you plan on doing any part of the wedding yourself. Many of the brides I've met are planning a wedding on a budget so they start to think of who to hire that's affordable or DIY projects that might add some beauty without breaking the bank. But before u call that committee of friends meeting to use as an avenue to raise funds for the wedding. Take sometime to prioritize what's important to you and your hubby to be. Do you care most about food???Music? The dress? Once you've pinpointed your priorities, plan a budget and either DIY or hire professionals. Sometimes the idea of using a DIY bouquet or hiring one sounds great however you might not like the idea of doing the flowers the day of your wedding so might want to think about something you can do weeks or even months in advance.

Invitations: save the dates and invitations are first ways that those folks outside your close friends and family will hear of your engagement and plans to marry. Why go with an overpriced set of embossed invitations printed in hard-to-read fonts , when u can make your own invitations instead? DIY invitations are more personal, casual and unique and far less expensive than paying someone else to do it. Whether you use a photo software program, convince a graphic artist friend of Urs to design something for you,or create something simple yourself using photoshop or paint on your laptop DIY invitations are the way to go. They are not just less expensive DIY invites are unique. DIY invites could come inform of bulk sms, emails, pictures of the couple with write ups. Want to get the DIY look but need a little help? Leave a comment in the comment section and I'd  hook you up. Like I always say it's basically about planning ahead. This way u save cost and also add a lot of thought and sentimental value to your wedding DIY invitations. This particular task is ok for a bride to DIY.
To be continued... Stay tuned. More on this topic tomorrow. It's all about brides. What to DIY and what to leave to the pros. Talk soon xoxo
