Being a maid of honour is almost the same thing as being a personal assistant only difference is. It's just for a day. So the maid of honour is the eye and ear of the bride on the wedding day. So before the wedding the maid of honour should:
- Create inspiration boards to help the bride organize her ideas
- Go dress shopping with the bride and bridesmaids
-If asked, attend cake tasting, ceremony venues visits,
-Assist with DIY efforts, including stuffing envelopes
-Spread the word about the wedding itinerary to the bridal party
-Ensure all the bridesmaids have ordered dresses and all appropriate accessories
-Schedule the bridesmaids fittings
-Arrange any necessary travel arrangements for bridesmaids(depends on the wedding location)
-Plan the bridal shower /bachelorette party
- Record all gifts given
THE. DAY
Make your contact information available to all vendors it depends, if the bride is a DIY bride. There will be no need for the maid of honour to have the contact info of the vendors if there is a wedding planner.
- Carry the bride's purse and an emergency kit items in the emergency kit should be (flip-flops,make up,a comb, vex money?etc)
- Have a list with all vendors info( might not be Necessary if there's a wedding planner)
-Give a toast
-have the honeymoon bag ready if the couple plan on heading straight to there honeymoon after the wedding reception.
Like I said being a maid of honour is like being a personal assistant only difference is, it's just a day's work...
Talk soon ... Xoxo
