Everton have secured the services of Nigerian international Henry Onyekuru ahead of Arsenal.
The 20-year-old forward joins from K.A.S. Eupen but was immediately loaned out to Belgian side, Anderlecht where he will spend next season.
The teenage striker became eagerly sought after following a breath-taking form last season that saw him score 22 goals in 38 games to finish as joint leading scorer in the Belgian Super League. Onyekuru is believed to have undergone a medical at Everton’s Finch Farm training base on Monday and agreed personal terms – with his contract having a £6.8m release clause.
Although he didn’t get game-time, he was part of the Nigerian team that lost to South Africa in a 2019 AFCON qualifier.
