Army spokesman, Col. Sani Usman, in a statement on Monday said that the arrest of the suspect followed tip off, adding “Nuhu is currently being interrogated.”
He added the vigilante members had handed the women to troops and were also being investigated.
In a related development, Usman said that troops of 33 Brigade, Nigerian Army, deployed at Forward Operation Base, Bauchi, killed five suspected kidnappers at Dutsen Makurd in Ningi Local Government Area.
He said that killing followed an exchange of gunfire between the suspects and troops.
According to the army spokesman, three Dane guns and other dangerous weapons were recovered from the suspects.
