On Monday, Students of the Lagos State University College of Medicine staged a protest in Alausa, Lagos, accusing the state Ministry of health and the government of failing to properly fund the institution.
The students converged at the governor’s office to draw the attention of the government to their grievances.
Among other things, the students accused the health ministry of failing to release N100m, which they said was approved for the institution by the governor months ago.
Some students of Dentistry said they had spent nine years in the institution for a course that was not accredited by the NUC, and argued that improved funding could help speed up the accreditation of the course.
