IPOB disowns Kanu’s lawyers

On Sunday,The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, refuted media reports at the weekend that the director of radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, had agreed to negotiate with the Federal Government for his release.

Kanu has been detention since his arrest in October last year over offences bordering on treason.
Kanu’s lawyers on Friday addressed the press in Abuja, stating that the IPOB leader was willing to negotiate with Federal Government to secure his release and end the political crisis that had continued to trail his incarceration.
On Sunday the IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Mr Emma Powerful disowned the lawyers and their publication.
In a statement the group described the lawyers’ action as a distraction.
