Eight prisoners at large after Kogi jail break...

Eight prisoners were still on the loose following a jail break in Kogi Stae, while five other escapees have been recaptured, the head of the prisons service said on Sunday. 
Ja’afaru Ahmed, the controller-general of prisons, said in a statement the incident happened on Saturday at Koton Karfe prison in Kogi state. 
Ahmed said an inquiry has been launched into the incident. Jail breaks are commom in Nigeria’s underfunded and crowded prisons.

Alhaja Zainab Asari Dokubo,the first wife of Mujahid Dokubo Asari is dead. 
She died alongside a friend in a car crash on her way to Ibadan. 
Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni, chairman Oyo state Muslim community, who confirmed the death in a statement said Zainab was already a Muslim years before she married Dokubo. 
He recalled that Zainab, who lived in Ibadan had to relocate to Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa when she was appointed Secretary of the Muslims Pilgrims Board. 
May her soul rest in Peace...

An attempted military coup in Turkey has left at least 90 dead, 1,154 wounded and 1,563 detained after a night of violence.
A faction of the Turkish armed forces attempted to overthrow the government late on Friday, with soldiers taking over some news outlets and tanks and helicopters blocking bridges.
Meanwhile, war planes flew over Ankara and explosions have rocked the Turkish parliament.
State news has reported “mass casualties” in Turkish cities as both the government and those linked to the military have battled for control.

'Everyone's fav not afraid to say what we are all thinking guy', Chief Femi Fani- Kayode was released in Lagos, over 65 days after his arrest, detention and arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The former minister, who was the spokesman for the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation, was arrested on May 9, 2016 for allegedly receiving N840m during the build-up to the 2015 presidential election. 
His media aide confirmed the development.

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), has said that it is collaborating with other traffic agencies to ensure that commercial motorcyclists are barred from plying major roads in Lagos state. The Sector Commander of the commission in Lagos, Mr Hyginus Omeje, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Friday that a task force had been put in place to enforce the ban.
Omeje said the command was also working closely with the National Union of Road Transport Workers, the umbrella body of the commercial motorcyclists to make the ban effective.
