NDLEA arrests Ojukwu’s niece, four others for importing cocaine...
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Operatives onTuesday, arrested Ijeoma Ojukwu, a niece of late Ikemba, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and three others just as the anti-graft agency quizzed staff over the importation of 2.24 kilogrammes of cocaine from Brazil.

Bayelsa Gov poll: PDP clears Dickson
Following the disqualification of two other aspirants, Senator Emmanuel Paulker and Chief Ebitikin Diongoli ahead of the party primaries in the state. THE chances of Governor Seriake Dickson becoming the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming December 5 poll is high.
Senator Paulker, representing Bayelsa Central Senatorial District in the Senate and Chief Diongoli, a former local government chairman of the Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Council Area, were disqualified at the weekend during the screening exercise at the zonal secretariat of the PDP in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

President Buhari condemns bomb attack at Malkohi IDP, orders tighter security
President Muhammadu Buhari condemned the bomb attack at Malkohi Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Yola, describing it as a heinous and cowardly act. He directed relevant authorities to take adequate measures to avoid future occurrence of such dastardly act.
Rivers Governorship Election marred by violence, says INEC
A witness for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the ongoing trial for the April 11 Rivers State Governorship election, said on Friday that the election was marred by violence. Okoye, who was in charge of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) election, campaign and party monitoring group in the state, said this in his testimony to the tribunal in Abuja. The witness gave the testimony while being led in evidence by counsel to the petitioners, Mr Akinlolu Olujimi (SAN).

She said she had met a distraught doctor in Malta whose wife and two children had drowned on a boat from Libya. He told her how his family had fled the region because the "biggest threat" was sexual assault and rape.

Eight-year-old Chidinma Onoja, the only survivor in the fire that claimed seven other members of her family Tuesday night at Lawanson, Surulere, Lagos, died yesterday. Late Chidinma Onoja Efforts by doctors at Gbagada General Hospital to save her life from the severe burns sustained on her face and other parts of her body proved abortive, as she reportedly died early yesterday. According to an article by Premium Times, Buharimeter, a platform monitoring the implementation of the electoral promises of President Muhammadu Buhari, has reported that about 800 Nigerians were murdered by the extremist Boko Haram sect within the first 100 days of Mr. Buhari’s presidency.
This shocking revelation was in a report issued by the monitoring platform to mark Mr. Buhari’s stewardship in his first 100 days in office.

I'm not bound by Law to declare my assets publicly- Gov. Wike...
The Governor of Rivers State, Barr. Nyesom Wike, said that he has declared his assets to the Code of Conduct Bureau in accordance with the Law.
He said that declaring assets publicly isn't part of what dictates the Law.
However, Gov. Wike explained that his done his due diligence which could only mean that his has declared his assets.

Detained Unilag lecturer fails to appear in court
Remember the University of Lagos lecturer who was accused of raping an 18-year-old girl seeking for admission. Apparently he was a no show in court, on Wednesday, as hearing continued into the alleged sexual assault.
The lecturer Afeez Baruwa in the Department of Accounting, allegedly raped the teenager in July, as she sort help to get admitted into the university.
After his arraignment in August, Mr. Baruwa was remanded at the Kirikiri prison pending his meeting of a N250, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

On Tuesday held a secret meeting President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
President Buhari and Obasanjo Have had a couple of meetings like this in recent past. The meeting was first held at the official residence of the president in August.
