Former Taraba State gov, Suntai is dead...

Ex. Gov. Danbaba Suntai of Taraba, who was in October 2012 involved in a plane crash died on Wednesday,in Houston, Florida,United States. 
The news of his demise was confirmed by Mr Emmanuel Bello, Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Darius Ishaku on Public Affairs.
Suntai, 56, has since the plane crash been receiving treatment in hospitals across the world.
Bello said information on when the remains of the former governor would be conveyed back to Nigeria would be released later.

According to him, the areas of success included the improved security, especially in the North-East and the anti-corruption campaign.

Jim Minnini, 58, was in hospital with terminal lung cancer on May 4 when he made a desperate plea to see his wife, Cindy, one last time.

APC ‘suspends’ Timipre Sylva ...

The Bayelsa state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on  Saturday, announced the suspension of a former governor of the state, Chief Timipre Sylva from the party. State chairman of the party, Timipa Tiwei Orunimighe and the secretary, Daniel Marlin announced the decision of the party in a statement in Abuja.

In a press statement on Saturday Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman Acting Director, Army Public Relations  disclosed that the troops of 155 Task Force Battalion, 21 Brigade, Nigerian Army on Thursday 31st March 2016, succeeded in killing nine suspected insurgents after rescuing 21 people held captive by the insurgents in Wulwuta village.

President Buhari appoints Aghaeze‎ as personal assistant...


Mr Sunday Aghaeze, has been appointed as Personal Assistant to the President, State Photographer by President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal,  The appointment took effect from June 1, 2015.

Governor Fayose urges President Buhari to Charge Olisa Metuh to court if there's any evidence of fraud against him...

 After Femi-Fani Kayode our friendly neighborhood 'say it as it is guy', the next person is Ekiti state Governor,Ayodele Fayose... Anyways,

 Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose cautioned that nothing untoward must happen to Metuh, adding that the APC’s desperation to decimate and silence the opposition has dragged the Buhari-led government in the mud of lawlessness.

France suspends Benzema over sex-tape scandal...


The French Football Federation on Thursday indefinitely suspended star striker Karim Benzema because of criminal charges of involvement in a sex-tape blackmail attempt against teammate Mathieu Valbuena.
Federation president Noel Le Graet said the suspension would include the 2016 European Championships to be held in France unless the case was settled.

Kogi Polls: APC will replace Faleke – Oyegun

 The Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has said that James Faleke will be replaced as deputy governor-elect should the need arise.
Odigie-Oyegun said this in Abuja on Wednesday December,7th in an interaction with newsmen.
Faleke, who was running mate to late Abubakar Audu in the Nov. 21 gubernatorial elections in Kogi, rejected the same position after the party replaced Audu with Alhaji Yayaha Bello, who was runner-up in the party’s primaries.

Minimum Wage Saga: Resign If You Can’t Pay, Aremu Tells Governors...


Comrade Issa Aremu the Former Vice President, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has said that any of the 36 States governors who cannot pay the minimum wage of N18,000.00 to workers, should resign from office.
Aremu, who is currently the General Secretary, National Union of Textile Garment Workers of Nigeria (NUTGWN) said such governor had no reason to be in the business of governance.
He said this on Saturday as the guest speaker at the 18th Joint Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2015 edition of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN).
The topic of the paper presentation was, “Government Patronage of Made–in-Nigeria Products, A Panacea for Industrial Growth and Development.”
He argued that one of the ways to judge the performance of the sitting President and all the States governors is their ability to resuscitate the collapsed industries in the country.
He also said that Nigeria was sitting on the keg of gun power, if its alarming rate of unemployment was not nipped in the bud.

Bayelsa poll: Police arrest suspects during clash...


The Bayelsa Police Command have said that calm has returned to Oporoma, headquarters of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.
The  police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr Asinim Butswat, an ASP, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yenagoa.
He said the command had received report of a clash by rival groups which disrupted the electoral process in the area.

Minimum Wage Saga;Gov. Ayo Fayose to Governors: Cut your travels, tours not minimum wages...


Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, has dissociated himself from calls by some state governors that the salaries of public servants be reduced or that there should be massive retrenchment in the public sector.
Instead of reducing salaries and sacking workers, Fayose admonished the state governors to reduce the affluence they enjoy in office and put an end to wastages.
