President Obama offered Playlist job at Spotify...


United States President Barack Obama has been offered a new position by Music streaming service Spotify once his time in office comes to an end. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek tweeted the job listing for a “President of Playlists” specifically catered to Obama’s skills and accomplishments, as his eight-year tenure nears its end.

Brazil’s Rousseff stripped of presidency...

Brazil’s Dilma Rousseff was stripped of the country’s presidency Wednesday in a Senate impeachment vote ending 13 years of leftist rule in Latin America’s biggest economy.
Senators voted by a majority of 61 to 20 to remove Rousseff from office on the grounds that she illegally manipulated the national budget.

First plane takes off from Brussels Airport after March 22 attacks: AFP...



A Brussels Airlines flight to the Portuguese city of Faro became the first plane Sunday to take off from Brussels Airport since it was hit by Islamic State attacks on March 22, AFP reporters saw. 
Staff and government officials at the airport marked the departure with a minute’s silence and a round of applause. 
The passengers on board were the first to undergo the airport’s strict new security regime after the suicide bombings.

Masked jihadi gunmen have killed at least 20 people with 'foreigners among the dead' as security forces battle to free hostages held in a four-star business hotel in Burkina Faso's capital.
Two car bombs exploded outside the Splendid Hotel in Ouagadougou's business district before several gunmen stormed the hotel.

FIFA has fired secretary general Jerome Valcke, amid alleged corruption involving World Cup ticket sales, one of many scandals surrounding soccer's governing body.
“The FIFA emergency committee decided, on 9 January 2016, to dismiss Jerome Valcke from the position of FIFA secretary general with immediate effect,” said a statement.
The Frenchman, effectively the number two behind president Sepp Blatter, who has been banned for eight years, was suspended on September 17 over allegations that he helped sell 2014 World Cup tickets on the black market.

U.S. President, Barack Obama, on Tuesday, said America would suspend duty-free benefits for South Africa on March 15, a move that could cost South Africa up to seven million dollars.
He said this in Washington, adding that the suspension was because South Africa failed to meet the requirements of a trade deal.

French fashion designer Andre Courreges dies at 92: company...

French fashion designer Andre Courreges, symbol of a futuristic style revolution in the 1960s and synonymous with mini-skirts and little white boots, has died at the age of 92.
"Clothes should escape from conventions," Courreges once said. Fashion, he thought, should be "a way of life".
The style icon died in the posh western Paris suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine. His funeral will be held in his southern hometown of Pau on Monday, the company said.
