DAR: Mr flavour is Engaged

Hello hello,

For lack of a better title sha. Rumor has it that flavour is engaged to he's baby mama former delta soap beauty queen Sandra Okagbue. He shared the picture above on he's social media page. I'm guessing they are back together. The rumored couple welcomed a baby girl in September last year.

3 disturbing habits that make u a mediocre

Hello hello, So as always I was jejely surfing the web and i stumbled into this article and I felt I should share with my lovely readers. Read to the end and take from it what you will.
Do you know what’s the difference between high performers and mediocre ones?
Habits.
It is often these patterns of behaviour which develop over time which make decide your fate. Habits rule your daily life and determine the perception that people form about you.
Turns out, not just humans but even organizations often overlook the importance of habits and the power of routine! Charles Duhigg in his book The Power of Habit writes “The best agencies understood the importance of routines. The worst agencies were headed by people who never thought about it, and then wondered why no one followed their orders.”
Mediocrity Dilbert
Mediocrity Dilbert

What you do everyday determines your outlook towards life. We all know about habits which are life-threatening and need to be avoided. Most of us consciously stay away from them. But what about those which you sub-consciously start developing due to external pressures and circumstances?
So how can you prevent yourself from becoming mediocre? One way is to consciously define your purpose in life and move towards it. The other is to be aware of tendencies and habits within us which may slowly corrupt the natural drive and willingness to succeed. By cutting off such tendencies regularly and replacing them by productive and empowering habits, you will ensure you don’t end up being one of the mediocre ones.
Remember to watch out for these three destructive tendencies and kill them before they become habits which defeat your potential:

Fear

Fear of Change
Fear

What will others think of me?”
This is too risky for someone like me to try…”
How many times have these thoughts appeared to you? It might seem our minds have almost been programmed to act with caution when we try to do something out of the ordinary. But you need to be worried if these thoughts begin to occur too frequently. They are a sign that you are letting your inner demon prevent you from attempting anything which is outside your comfort zone.
The truth is no one starts off being mediocre. Mediocrity sets in largely due to a change in mindset which culminates in the formation of habits which limit us from achieving our potential. As you grow up, your innate fearlessness is replaced by a need to comply with the rules and regulations which society imposes on you. Lack of initiative and procrastination begin to develop and become tools which help us avoid taking risks and facing our fears.
These tendencies become part of us with time and before you know it, you become one among those who are content to just skim along the surface of things and not contribute meaningfully to anything. You know what’s the worst thing about letting this habit rule our life? We often end up projecting this fear onto others when someone seems to be trying to break the traditional boundaries. This takes the form of an ugly skepticism where we tell others “Why do you want to take such a big risk? Always better to play safe…”
Next time, fear raises its ugly head, face it head on and go with your instincts. The more you do this, the less fear limits you. And very soon, courage to try new things will replace the habit of being afraid!

Helpless Indifference

Indifference
Indifference PC Jan TLk

“What can I do? My boss will never let me do it”
“It’s not my call to take. I’d rather wait and see what my superiors say…”
Doesn’t it make you angry when someone consistently acts helpless? When they don’t even try to act because pretending to be a victim who is helpless is much easier than doing something about it?
Welcome to the habit of helpless indifference. This develops in two ways
a) You stop being accountable for yourself and give others power to make decisions
b) You resign to your fate and accept that you can’t change things to help yourself. So you decide to stop helping others and become indifferent.
Both of these are a surefire way to ensure you join the mediocrity club.
Look around. Your success or failure depends on your ability to add value to people around you. But in the process of doing it, always make sure your ability to be accountable to yourself and the power over your actions remains with you.

Complacency

You know the problem with most people who end up being mediocre? They embrace complacency as if it were their best friend. This habit has the maximum destruction potential and needs to be avoided at all costs.

Theory Behind Diamond rings

Hello hello, it's Time for a trip down memory lane, to how people started buying rings with major blings,

Let's get started make sure you read to the end,

19th Century American men gave a tumbler normally used for sewing. The bride was supposed to cut the top off and use what was left as a ring. And Roman men? They were even cheaper! They gave iron rings, not very romantic, eh? The ring either denoted strength of the union or man’s authority over his woman is not clearly mentioned. So if we see the story again…

“Will you marry me?” he asked getting down on one knee and holding a bronze ring

“Yes, George I will,” she happily gleamed, “Oh and the ring is so lovely!”

Oh what the world had been back the! To be honest, it was not really till 500 years that this tradition began. Engagement rings without diamonds have been around for millennia.

The history tells how Archduke Maximilian of Austria was the first person to give his fiancé, Mary of Burgundy a diamond engagement ring in 1477. The diamonds, even then were exceptionally rare and pricey, so our Maximilian didn’t make it cheap, aha!

After that,  it took an unusual discovery in Africa to turn diamonds into a more affordable gift. In the year 1871 an 83.5 carat stone was found on property belonging to two brothers called De Beers and this is when those bad boys came in the market.  The surface deposits were depleted quickly, but the real treasure was found in a volcanic plug, a single massive volcanic rock that had propelled itself near the surface in an eruption hundreds of millions of years earlier. It contained the largest reserves of diamond ever discovered. Between 1871 and 1914 over two tons of diamonds were extracted from it, so many that for the first time in history the price was low enough to make diamonds affordable to more than just kings and queens. The mines themselves, after numerous mergers, came under control of an emerging giant, a conglomerate named De Beers Consolidated Mines. To this day it retains a monopoly over the world’s diamond market, gaining control of new mines as they are discovered.

De Beers had a product, but it needed a market and so the company invented one. They used massive advertising campaigns to convince middle class families in Europe that they too could now possess a status symbol previously reserved only for the very wealthy and it worked brilliantly. Almost overnight the market for diamonds increased exponentially. “Diamond is forever” was the brilliant campaign that did the trick.

@abitthisamorethat

However, by WWI, demand in Europe had plateaued, but the rise of the giant American middle class created new possibilities. By the 1930’s, De Beers, recognizing the shift in wealth from the old world to the new, switched their marketing efforts from Europe to the US. Every American bride, they said deserved a diamond ring. Despite the Great Depression, America was rapidly overtaking Europe to become the most affluent society in the world and Americans began to buy diamonds in massive numbers. They did it partly because they could afford it and partly because, perversely, the depression encouraged them to. In a time of economic uncertainty, people sought investments to last and diamonds after all, are forever. It was at this point, only 80 years or so ago, that the diamond market really became a mass market and giving diamond engagement rings became embedded as a universal culture.

@abitthisamorethat

But this was not all that it took to land diamonds in our lives and on the woman’s finger, it was De Beers genius advertising that really got to people. The slogans ‘Diamonds are forever’ is one such famous one which was coined as one of the most influential slogans of all time. Though it meant strength and love but what people did not fully understand that a diamond was actually for forever since it had no return value, and still does not have one. Another advertisement that made these rock studded rings so famous was that a man should spend his months’ salary on such a great possession.

So now when you go to a jewelry store to buy a diamond engagement ring for your lady, you are but following a surprisingly recent tradition.

And what's the "Ring code", how much is too when buying an engagement ring? Do people insure there engagement rings? To add more Value to it? Let me know what you think in the comment section...

10 Reasons why Nyesome wike will win Against Dakuku Peterside

Chosen at last, chosen at last! So went the chants of relief as the two major political parties in Rivers State finally nominated their gubernatorial hopefuls in the persons of Nyesome Wike, PDP,  and Dakuku Peterside, APC. But the closure of the last round has given way to the beginning of the last bout, the medal round after which a champion will emerge and take pride of place in the Brick House. One cannot help but feel a great sense of excitement and anxiety as he or she ponders on whom of these two individuals will emerge the next governor of Rivers. A careful and thoughtful analysis of relating events and variables, however, have found the scale heavily tipped in favor of Nyesome Wike to emerge the next governor of Rivers State.

Here is the tale of the tape;

1. Method of Emergence: Wike emerged out of an internal democratic process or what appeared to be one. Peterside on the other hand, was a product of a mysterious nominative process, in other words, he was handpicked by his master, the sitting Governor. By design and necessity, Wike was conditioned to hit the campaign trails, talked and wooed potential swing voters in all the Local Governments Areas in Rivers State, and in the process had familiarized himself with potential promises and problems that need making adjustments to. In contrast, Peterside has just embarked on this journey, and without the benefits of hindsights, and with less room to wriggle and limited time to maneuver, he is going to have a tougher time selling himself to the electorate.

2. The Ogoni Factor: the good people of Ogoni, a majority ethnic nationality in Rivers State with the combined voting strength of over 400,000 will vote overwhelmingly in favor of Nyesome Wike in the upcoming general elections. The wounds of betrayal inflicted by Gov. Amaechi on the Ogoni family by the dashing of the gubernatorial aspiration of their son, Senator Magnus Abe, will turn the Ogonis away from any Amaechi sponsored candidate . The Ogoni people will not vote to extend the de facto reign of the man who never thought they were worthy of a shot at the the Brick House. The Ogoni people feel less slighted by Wike who never lied to them, and who, all along,  has expressed his desire to keep the ticket to himself as opposed to Amaechi who tricked and deceived the Ogoni people into believing that he was going to give it to their son, Senator Abe, only to pull the plug on him in the 11th hour. Whether Peterside had a hand in the demise of Senator Abe’s governorship longing or not, this singular act isn’t going to add up on the credit side of his Ogoni account.

3. Baggage: Wike is going into the upcoming general elections carrying his own political baggage, but Peterside does not have that same luxury, since, unfortunately, he is going to have to carry both his political baggage and that of his master’s, Governor Amaechi, and his master’s master, Gen. Buhari. The combined weight will prove too heavy for his young shoulders. Hon. Peterside has got no way out of this quagmire ; if President Jonathan is reelected, the people of Rivers State will fall over themselves to vote and rid themselves of anything APC, and if Buhari wins, the people will be livid, and will register their displeasure by voting against Hon. Peterside whose stubborn government is perceived to be nothing but a mere extension of his vilified master, Gov. Amaechi.

4. The First Lady Angle: There is no misgivings who the First Lady wants for the next governor of Rivers State. And taking into consideration that she is, unarguably, the most aggressive First Lady Nigeria has ever seen, there is no gainsaying the huge political dividends Wike stands to gain from her sociopolitical capital.

5. The Regional Sentiment Card: a greater majority of the Rivers people are sympathetic to the second term presidential bid of President Goodluck Jonathan. Wike is an avid supporter of the President, while the master handler of Peterside, Gov. Amaechi, is at daggers drawn with President Jonathan, a fellow son of the Niger Delta. In fairness to Peterside there hasn’t been anything he has done or said that has demonstrated a sustained effort at antagonizing the President as has been evident in the case of his master, Amaechi. But, just as the saying goes, show me your friends, and I will tell you who you are.

6. Personality Traits; self-made man vs. man-made man: Nyesome Wike is his own man, while Dakuku Peterside is another man’s boy.  Governor Rotimi Amaechi openly labels Peter side as his boy, and Peterside gladly wears that “badge of honor” with pride – at least publicly. Ordinarily, this ought not to serve as an indictment against Peterside as it doesn’t highlight or speak to an absence of intellectual aptness, but when the leadership expected from the First Citizen of Rivers State is what is under discussion, then, naturally, the greater majority of Rivers people would rather dance with the man who marches to the sound of his own drum as opposed to the boy whose dance steps are in time to the beats of the drum of his master hidden somewhere far away.

7. Party Affiliation: Wike is running on the platform of PDP, a party that has deep roots and has dominated Rivers political scene for close to 20 years. Peterside is the torch bearer of APC, a party that was hastily put together about 3 years ago to challenge the supremacy of PDP. In all honesty, APC has done nothing to convince anyone that it is more of a contender than a pretender. The APC party hopefuls have talked the talk, but no one has seen them walk the walk. The big deal is, PDP is known to the Riverians, APC isn’t. And just like the saying goes; the devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know.

8. Political Work History: Nyesome Wike was the Chairman of  Obio/Akpo, the second richest Local Government Area in Nigeria, for 8 long years, while Dakuku Peterside was the Chairman of Opobo/Nkono Local Government Area for 1 single year.
Interestingly, given the political trajectories of both of these candidates, it’s worthy of a mention that even Governor Amaechi, himself, had always picked Wike over Peterside in terms of strategic political positioning. He had consistently elevated Wike into positions of higher responsibility and guardianship over any other person when he sensed trouble waters ahead.
In the most crucial months leading up to Amaechi’s emergence as governor, he trusted none more than Wike to take him to the “Promised Land”. This explains why Amaechi made Wike his Campaign Manager, and why in Governor Amaechi’s first term, Wike served as the Chief of General Staffs, while Peterside was one of many commissioners in the same administration. Immediately past, and with Amaechi’s blessings, Wike was made the one and only federal Minister for Education in the country. Peterside, on the other hand, was made one of the 360 members of the House of Representatives.
It sure appeared the governor, himself, trusted and believed in Wike’s political stewardship more than that of Peterside’s.

9. Political Leadership: Wike is the unquestioned leader of the PDP party today just as he has always been even before Amaechi jumped ship. Peterside is not, and never been the leader of his party, from PDP to APC. And since this a battle for leadership, Wike has the edge as he is more practiced in this respect than Peterside.

10. One Man, One Vote: Wike also edges out Peterside in this aspect. The emergence of Peterside was arguably an attempt to pacify the Riverine people’s clamor for the governorship shot. Now, it must be put in perspective for folks to know that this call was made by the Riverine people. The Upland folks of Rivers State are not exactly falling over themselves to give away the governorship seat. As a matter of fact, the Ogoni people rightfully made a strong push of their own for the governorship slot. Unfortunately, they were passed over by Gov. Amaechi. So here is how the game is going to play out; Wike is definitely going to win out in the 4 Ogoni LGAs, and the 4 Ikwerre LGAs both of which are the Upland majority ethnic nationalities. The First Lady, and the National Vice Chairman of PDP, are going to put their respective LGA in the Riverine part of the State out of play for Peterside. Meaning, the Uplanders will vote for Wike, while only a fraction of the Riverines will vote for Peterside.

In summation, this is an uneven match up. Peterside may be a bright young mind, and a fledging political up-comer with certain upsides, but he is not yet in the same political weight class as Wike who made his bones a long time ago. Wike is just too much of a champion heavyweight to be caught in the ring with.  Even Peterside’s master, Gov. Amaechi, himself, couldn’t go the distance with Wike. Too bad he has sent his boy to do his job.
Yes, President Barrack Obama was an underdog, too, just like Peterside, but, let me be very clear on this, with all due respects, Rivers State is no USA, and Dakuku Peterside is no Barack Obama.

Photo: Miley Poses Topless

Hello hello,

Nothing weird here, just another topless photo of Miley. Wonder what's wrong with her?
They say if you have it flaunt it. And she ain't got it, then why is she flaunting it? Na wa

Buhari stoned at Lagos rally.

Hello hello

Not sure of how true this is but rumor has it that Buhari Apc presidential candidate was stoned in he's campaign rally that held on the 30th of December

But apparently APC released a statement regarding the alleged stoning.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied the concocted story by former Minister of State for Defence Musiliu Obanikoro that the party's presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, was pelted with stone during the party's rally in Lagos, saying a lie has never worn a bolder face.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said Gen. Buhari and other top leaders of the APC rode in a open bus from the Palace of the Oba of Lagos to the Teslim Balogun Stadium venue of the rally, to great cheers from Lagosians who lined the route.

''Not once was he pelted with stone during the almost two-hour ride. It is obvious that those who were paid by Mr. Obanikoro to stone the General failed to deliver. We therefore urge him to seek a refund of whatever money he paid to his hired hands to pelt Gen. Buhari with stones,'' it said.

APC said Obanikoro's statement on an imaginary attack on Gen. Buhari in Lagos must be his own way of saying 'thank you' to his masters for nominating him as Minister on Friday, as his reward for ceding the gubernatorial ticket he claimed to have won to Jimi Agbaje.

The party thanked the good people of Lagos for turning out in unprecedented numbers to welcome Gen. Buhari to Lagos, saying the Centre of Excellence has never witnessed such a huge and cheery crowd.

Echo Events: Wedding dress

Hello hello, howdy? TGIF darlings. So it's that time of the week again. When it rains weddings and I've got a tip for brides to be,ladies planning there wedding before they even start dating on how to choose your wedding dress.

As most of us know wedding dresses come in two style Mermaid or fish tail style and the big ball room style. We are going to ignore that part and talk about wedding dress sleeves or neckline,I'm going to be very candid and in my honest opinion I won't advice any bride to choose a tube dress as her wedding dress cos lets face, it's your wedding don't mean u stopped being human. Your still human that sweats, have under arm hair and also tube dresses don't fit nobody. It makes you look naked and your also prune to wardrobe malfunctions someone could step on it and well the rest is history. So I advice that when picking a wedding dress choose a wedding dress that your most comfy in and u can be free to rock and lift your hands up and scream (like ric flair whooooo) get it? When your jam is playing. It's adviceable you ask your hubby to be before making the decision. If your such a fan of tube dresses then I advice you add a cape to the dress. Siting underarm isn't a site for sore eyes especially when it's a day that all eyes will be on you.

+ also, When picking a wedding dress also look out for sewing patterns on the fabric. By sewing patterns i mean. If your on the big side like me look out for dress with horizontal patterns It'll make you look trim and if your on the Lepka side look for dress with vertical patterns it'll compliment your physique.

If your on the big side like me and You choose a dress with vertical patterns I'm sorry to say this but you'll look 3times fatter and short.

For slim people the good news is, you can wear any of the 2 patterns and still look good.

This is just from my own point of view, everybody with he's or her own style . Pick from this post what u can relate to.

Echo Events:Bridesmaids and Bouquet

Hello hello, told u all I was back. So hard menh. Saying "u all". Y'all all day every day. Happy Sunday.

So today I'm gonna talk about bridesmaids and bouquets. I know the trend has been around since the beginning of time you know? Abroad. But not where I come from. Seems like it was just yesterday I was a bridesmaid for my cousin and she didn't give us bouquets to hold. Just hand fans and matching everything. A lot of people that didn't honor this trend at there wedding will drag with me and say things like they didn't just want to add it. Big fat lie. It wasn't trending yet and i know I used to suggest to a lot of brides and they always shut it down and say things like "hmm" which kind style be d@ nau?! Well go and look at the trend sweeping the nation right now. Bridesmaids carrying bouquets like the bride I really don't get it but I love it. Instead of the conventional hand fans as accessories for the bridal train. The bouquet gives the train a unique look and unique is always in. And also royal.

But for a bride on a budget I would advice u look away. The bouquet for bridesmaid is just a waste of money.

So with this bouquets for bridesmaids trend in does it mean the bride won't throw her bouquet for all them single bridesmaids or it's now exclusive to the single female guests U know? Get it!

That been said what do u think of this trend? I don't hate it. I totally ship it. And as a bride will u want to carry same bouquet with you bridesmaids? On your big day. Get the conversation going In the comment section.

Echo Events: Bridal veil

Hello hello. I'm back! I hope. So I'm here to talk about wedding veils.

Apparently choosing your wedding veil is as important as choosing the perfect wedding dress that goes with your dress. Most people don't get the point of this because? It's just they claim they wont have it on after the church service, but  just so u know? It's so Not true. Theres no rule thats been carved into stone that says you shouldn't still have your veil on your hair after the church service and all through the reception. It's your veil. Till u get home and u know *wink*.

These days most wedding dresses have a train attached to it that's just like a veil.

Anyways apparently veils come in different lengths and styles. More pics after the cut.

That been said, what veil will u choose for you big white wedding day???
I'd choose the 3yard cathedral length or even the royal one 180 and have it custom made with all them Swarovski crystals in neon pink. 😁 #DontJudge#WishfulThinking

Oh and yeah! Except your wedding dress comes with a cape it's totally acceptable to wear your wedding veil throughout the reception. It's your day and it's your rules.

More to come. Watch this space. If u have a question leave a comment in the comment section will reply u as soon as possible.
And we are still taking bookings & orders for 2015. Events planning and make up artist.

7year old girl survives plane crash

Hello hello,

This is the 7yr old girl who proved to the world recently that miracles still do happen. She survived a plane crash on Friday evening January 2nd that killed her parents, sister and cousin. The plane the family was flying in, a Piper PA-34 went down in Western Kentucky and by some miracle, Sailor Gutzler survived, trekked three-quarters of a mile in the dark barefoot until she found a house and knocked on their door, telling them what had just happened to her family.
"She told me that her mom and dad were dead. And that she had been in a plane crash." The man whose home Sailor knocked on told CNN

Wilkins said he got the little girl on his couch and called the police who later found the wreckage of the plane. Sailor was also taken to the hospital but not for any life threatening injuries. The people who died were her dad Marty Gutzler, 48; her mum Kimberly Gutzler, 46, her sister, 9-year-old Piper Gutzler (pictured right) and Sailor's cousin,14-year-old Sierra Wilder. FAA investigators in Kentucky are trying to find out what caused the crash

Still don't believe in God? After reading this u should start believing. Such a pretty lil girl she survived without any injuries.

God is not a man. For I know my plans for u, plans of good and not of evil ,to bring u an expected end. #prayInJanuary# it's the beginning of the and it's the best to bring out ur journal and list out all u want God to give u this year. For the next 21days pray. Each day pray to God concerning a problem or heart desire on your list. Pick one from your list and pray.

Always always give thanks and be grateful. God has a plan for us all. He knows all and sees all. Even if u feel like ur time is running out never stop believing and always give God all the glory.

Bride does world's best photo shoot after groom leaves her a few days to there wedding

Shelby Swink, 23, met her ex-fiancé in college back in 2011 and they hit it off right away. The two were happily engaged by March 2014, planning for a November wedding.

“I poured my heart and soul into the wedding plans, because I wanted the day that would celebrate our love and commitment for each other to be absolutely amazing,” Swink told BuzzFeed News.
But when the week of the wedding arrived, Swink’s then-fiancé told her that he was not in love with her and didn’t want to get married.

with her parents

“Bam. My dreams of marrying and having kids with what I thought was the man I would spend the rest of my life with vanished,” she said.
“I was in complete shock and had no idea what to think or do. I was numb. The next few days were a blur of calling guests and canceling vendors.”
Swink said she was lucky to have her friends and family supporting her, but none of them knew what to do or how to act when what was supposed to be her wedding day rolled around.

But she knew one thing for certain: “A pity party was the farthest thing from what I wanted or needed,” she said.
So the wedding photographer brought up an idea to have a “trash the dress” photo shoot where they would ruin her wedding dress and take fun, nontraditional photos in rebellion.
“At first it sounded crazy, but after really thinking about it, I knew that it was the perfect thing for me,” Swink said. “After all, it was just a dress, a material item.”

“Nov. 1 was supposed to be a fun and happy day surrounded by friends and family who loved me,” Swink continued. “I decided that I would not let my ex-fiancé’s mistake of letting me go take that away from me.”The former bride-to-be asked both of her parents to be involved in the photo shoot.“My mom is the one who paid for the dress, so I was nervous as to how she would react when I told her what I wanted to do with it. But both of them were 100% supportive and wanted to be there for me.”
Swink’s dad even brought along some champagne and cigars.
She also wanted her bridesmaids to be there, and they ended up being just as excited as Swink to take the photos.

Swink’s dress is also being displayed in a local bridal shop in Memphis through the beginning of January. A portion of the proceeds from each dress bought while it’s on display are going to a local nonprofit called Be Free Revolution.
“I can’t even describe how liberating and cathartic the experience was for me,” said Swink. “The moment the first bit of paint hit my dress I was free.”

Despite the fact that she was broken up with a week before her wedding, Swink remains positive and full of inspiration for others.

“Instead of lying down and letting life trample over me, I decided to get up and face it head-on,” she said.
And if she could say one thing to her ex, this is what it would be: “Thank you for sparing me greater pain and loss down the road. Thank you for pushing me to realize my own strength…”
“…Thank you for teaching me that no one can take away my happiness. Thank you for letting me go so I can one day experience true reciprocated love. THANK YOU!”
